In the last financial year, 3 264 Adult Volunteers and Rovers across SCOUTS South Africa contributed an estimated 718 080 volunteer hours to youth development, community upliftment and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Through volunteer-led projects, Scouts are growing food gardens to support food security, are taking part in climate action and environmental education, are leading recycling and clean-up initiatives, are promoting diversity and inclusion, are supporting mental health education, and are driving water safety awareness. Scouting volunteers help young people understand their role in driving change and guide them in making real contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals.
As the world celebrates the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development #IVY 2026, we recognise every SCOUTS South Africa volunteer for the impact they make through their time, skills and commitment to building more resilient communities through service. Thank you to ourvolunteers for showing up and making a difference.
