The 2nd Africa Scout Moot is coming to Johannesburg, South Africa from 1-8 August 2026, and we need YOU! This historic gathering will bring together hundreds of Rovers from across Africa and beyond for a festival of culture, adventure, leadership, and service.
But an event of this scale doesn’t run itself. It runs on the passion, dedication, and spirit of volunteers like you. This is your chance to be at the centre of this incredible event, to gain invaluable experience, and to serve the Scouting community in a truly meaningful way.

We are looking for
We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and proactive individuals aged 18 and above (including non-Scouts who believe in our mission!) to fill various roles, including:

Activity Facilitators:
- Module Leader: Lead a team to plan, organise and run activities around the theme for your module. A small set of these activities will be tested at the National Moot in December. You will be responsible for sourcing and coordinating activities with the activity specialist. Each module needs to cater for up to 500 participants per day.
- Activity specialist: plan and run an exciting activity following the module theme.
- Sho’t left Adventure Base Leader: plan and run one of the overnight ‘away’ activities in Gauteng – catering for up to 100 participants per night over 5 nights

Logistics Helping with catering, transport and the logistics behind making the camp a success

Site Management: Helping with campsite setup, sustainability (eco-moot), and site operations, including risk, health & safety, security and sanitation.

Media & Communications:
- Photographer: A dynamic, muso behind the camera lens, ready to capture the memories of Moot. Must have their own DSLR/ high quality camera and laptop.
- Translators: For French, Portuguese, and English.
- Social Media Content Creators: Looking for those on trend to create engaging, exciting and on brand content. #trendsetters

Commitment & requirements

Must be available for the entire event period: 1-8 August 2026 (before and one day afterwards)

May need to be available for planning meetings.
