Apollo, 58th Durban Air Scout Pup

Today on #internationaldogday we recognise all our Scouting furry friends. Our Scout Law 6 states that  ” A Scout is a friend to animals”. This means that as Scouts, we need to be kind to animals, care for their welfare, and understand and conserve the natural world, including its animals and their habitats.

Many of our Scouting members, Scouting campsites, and Scout Groups have dogs that play meaningful roles in making our Scouting adventures just that little bit more special. One such a pup is Apollo, the official Scout pup at 58th Durban Air Scouts.

“I may have started life on the streets, but with a little kindness and a lot of belly rubs, I found my pack. Now I lead the Scouts with my tail held high. My tip for other Scout pups? Always keep your nose to the trail, adventures smell even better with friends.”
