A Scouting medal represents more than an award. It recognises the time, commitment, service, and contribution a member has given to others and to the Movement.
When and how to wear it:
On normal occasions: Members generally wear the cloth badge for an award.- At formal functions: The medal itself should be worn, pinned over its corresponding cloth badge.
- Orders: These are worn around the neck, hanging over the Scout scarf.
- This applies to Long Service, Meritorious and Bravery awards.
- Military medals are not worn on the Scout uniform.
You can wear them at formal Scouting occasions such as Founder’s Day, AGM’s, Regional Awards, Springbok presentations, etc. or at events where the formal SCOUTS SA uniform is worn.
If you have received a Scouting medal, wear it with pride!
