This Mother Earth Day, we celebrate and thank our dedicated Meerkats, Cubs, Scouts, Rovers, and volunteers who continue to care for our planet through meaningful service. #scouts4sdgs
Across the country, our members have contributed to the SDGs addressing sustainable conservation through hands-on environmental projects ranging from community clean-ups, alien vegetation removal and tree planting to raising awareness within their schools and communities. These actions reflect a strong, ongoing commitment to protecting the beautiful world we all explore, while building a more sustainable South Africa that can be enjoyed by generations of young people in the future.
We also take this moment to remind our Rovers of the pledge they made when signing the SA Rover Plastic Tide Turners Manifesto. SCOUTS SA’s Rovers took a stand and made a personal commitment to sustainable practices by refusing single-use plastic and teaching younger Scouting members about the importance of refusing, reducing, recycling and reusing.
To every Meerkat, Cub, Scout, Rover, and volunteer: thank you for your drive for conservation, and your continued commitment to making a difference. No matter how small the action, it counts! #scouts4sdgs #motherearthday
