Cub Camping Licence Renewal

Camping is one of the most exciting and valuable parts of the Cub programme. For our 7- to 10-year-olds, going on Camp is often their first extended time away from home without their parents, so it’s important that leaders are properly trained and experienced.

Why the Cub Camping Licence matters

To ensure every Cub Camp is run safely and to a high standard, SCOUTS SA requires the leader in charge to hold a valid Cub Camping Licence as part of its commitment to quality programmes and Safe Scouting.
The Cub Camping Licence course also forms part of the broader adult training pathway in Scouting, ensuring that Pack Scouters are equipped with the skills needed to plan, run, and manage safe and engaging camps.

Renewal Update

licenceWe are currently working on an online solution for Pack Scouters to renew their Cub Camping Licence. In the interim, your Cub Camping Licence remains valid if you have camped within the last two years.

This means you must have either:

  • Run a Cub Camp, or
  • Served as an Assistant Pack Scouter on a Cub Camp

This recognises the importance of recent, practical experience in maintaining camping skills and leadership confidence.  We will share updates as soon as the Online Cub Camping Licence Renewal Course is available.
