Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate the women and girls who are making a difference in their communities and across the SA Scout Movement. 🌍⚜We recognise and thank our female volunteers, leaders, youth members, parents, caregivers, and supporters who help shape the lives of young people every day.
In 2000, SCOUTS South Africa opened its doors to girls as many of our Scouts’ sisters were keen to do what their brothers were doing. Today, 26 years later, nearly half of our members are female. Across the SA Scout Movement, girls and women are leading groups of children and youth, while inspiring and teaching them how to lead, how to work together as equals, and how to make constructive contributions to the world they live in. Young people are building confidence, developing independence, and gaining the skills to be ready for life.
Thank you for all that you do. Here’s to the women and girls in Scouting!💜
