The Link Badge may be earned by Cubs who are moving from the Pack to the Troop and must be completed before joining the Troop and being invested as a Scout. Its purpose is to make the step from Cub to Scout a smoother, more meaningful transition.

The ‘Link’ aims to make the transition less daunting and helps bridge the change from being a Senior Cub, a big fish in a small pond, to becoming a Junior Scout, a small fish in a big pond. Sometimes this can feel like a daunting jump, but with the right preparation it becomes an exciting adventure.

To support this, the Scout Programme Team has developed resources to help Packs and Troops guide their Cubs through the transition. These resources aim to make things easier for both the Cub as well as the Pack and Troop Scouters, ensuring every Cub enters the Scout Troop with confidence.
