The fight against single-use plastics is bigger than one person—but not bigger than a movement of committed youth. Since 2018 Scouts around the world are taking local actions that contribute to the achievement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. #scouts4SDGs
In South Africa, we have been working on them through our National Challenges, as well as our advancement programmes and community service initiatives like beach and park clean-ups, clothing and toys collection drives, and through the personal choices we make as Scouts to ensure we leave the world a better place than how we found it.
To all who see Rovers in their communities, it should be clear that:
We don’t just camp in nature—we protect it.- We don’t just talk of change – we lead it.
- We don’t just claim a healthy lifestyle – we enable it
- We don’t just speak of values—we live them.
