Alumni Pillar 4!

Alumni, not everyone has the time and resources to be a regular, weekly volunteer. But everyone has something to give, for as long as you like. That is why we are introducing micro-volunteering!

For many years we have been talking about flexible volunteering and how to provide opportunities for Scout Alumni and Scouting parents to help out at our Groups without long-term commitments or a long paper trail. We are excited to introduce our new Micro-Volunteering initiative!

What is Micro-Volunteering?

Micro-volunteering is a way to engage with you – our alumni – for fixed term, skill-based tasks. This means that we are asking you to commit and support a certain Scouting project for a certain amount of time. These are flexible, low-commitment opportunities where someone with the right expertise can support Scouting in a practical, time-bound way—often remotely.

To facilitate this,  we have opted to use the ForGood platform to manage and match these the needs within our Scouting community to the expertise and time commitments of our alumni.

Through this Micro-Volunteering pillar, you can:

🧠 Use your skills: legal, design, painting, communications, finance, and more.
🕐 Support a real Scout project in just a few hours.
💻 Volunteer remotely or in-person via the ForGood platform.

One small task. One big difference.
Scouting gave you your start, now you can give back, your way.
