For over 100 years, SCOUTS South Africa has been impacting families and lives. Whether you lit your leadership skills on fire at PLTU, rafted at Kontiki, or led Patrols across the Cederberg —Scouting has likely left its mark on your life. Now, we’re inviting you to reconnect with that legacy in a way that fits your life today.

We’re thrilled to announce the relaunch of the SCOUTS South Africa Alumni —a dynamic space for former Scouts, Rovers, volunteers and leaders to stay connected, share their stories, and support Scouting in new and meaningful ways. 

🧭 Why are we launching this?

Because we know:

• Long-Term Volunteering doesn’t always fit modern schedules and commitments
• You still care about Scouting, even if you’re not in uniform.
• Your story matters, and so does your voice in shaping our future.

This is about choosing your own adventure—whether that means joining a hike, swiping your MySchool card, sharing your skills through micro-volunteering, or simply receiving updates and attending an event every now and then.

Scouts South Africa Alumni contains five key pillars designed to give you flexible, modern, and meaningful ways to reconnect. You can choose which pillars to take part in according to your lifestyle and interests!

Stay in the loop with a dedicated Alumni Newsletter, engaging content, and interactive spaces like our Facebook Group and WhatsApp Communities—where you can share stories, post updates, and reconnect with fellow Scouts.

Go behind the scenes! Join guided tours at Scout events like Kontiki or Field Day to see what’s happening today and relive the moments that shaped your journey.

🧣 Alumni Identity
Show your pride with exclusive alumni merchandise, including a purple Shweshwe scarf and other branded items—available at key events and online.

🔧 Micro-Volunteering
Use your professional skills to make a difference. From marketing to painting to finance, alumni and external volunteers can now support Scouting through fixed-term, flexible, skill-based volunteering opportunities via the ForGood platform.

💰 Financial Giving
Support Scouting in the way that works for you—through MySchool, monthly giving, or legacy contributions. Every bit helps us grow the next generation of changemakers.
