The Patrolarama held by the 1st Marvern Scout Group is a traditional District Scouting competition event where patrols (small teams within a Scout troop) compete in a wide range of activities that test their outdoor skills, teamwork, and Scouting knowledge.

What Happens at Patrolarama

• Patrol-Based Competitions
  Scouts form into their patrols and work together to complete challenges. The emphasis is on teamwork, leadership, and using each member’s strengths.
• Scouting Skills Challenges
  Events usually include activities such as:
  • Pioneering (building structures with poles and ropes)
  • Orienteering and map-reading
  • Knot-tying and lashings
  • First aid scenarios
  • Fire-lighting and cooking
  • Observation and tracking skills
• Games & Problem-Solving
  Patrols may take part in fun games that involve problem-solving, initiative, and cooperation.
• Points & Awards
  Patrols are scored on their performance, Scout spirit, teamwork, and skill. At the end, results are announced and trophies or certificates may be awarded.
• Community & Spirit
  It’s also about building friendships, fostering Scout spirit, and giving young people a chance to put their training into practice in a fun, competitive setting.
